We had a fantastic experience with bookkumanasafari.com. The online booking process was seamless, and the entire trip was incredibly well-organized, including a punctual hotel pickup from Arugam Bay. The private jeep was clean, and our driver was excellent at tracking wildlife. Kumana itself is beautiful, peaceful, and far less crowded than Yala, allowing us to see plenty of elephants and incredible birds up close. Highly recommend bookkumanasafari.com for a hassle free and memorable safari!

Peaceful safari with great elephant sightings
We were picked up from our hotel in Arugam Bay at 5 AM. Kumana was quiet and peaceful with hardly any other jeeps around. Our driver Nishan was patient and knowledgeable. We watched a family of elephants grazing near the water for nearly half an hour, along with painted storks, sea eagles, and spotted deer. A very memorable day in the wilderness.
Beautiful morning drive with lots of birdlife and elephants
We took the early morning safari from Panama village. Kumana is so green and tranquil. We saw an elephant mother with a small calf close to the track, plenty of painted storks, kingfishers, and spotted deer. Very smooth booking and punctual pickup.
Sunrise over Kumana Villu was the highlight of our trip
The sunrise over the marshland was breathtaking. The park has a wild and unspoiled feeling compared to busier parks. Our guide pointed out dozens of waterbirds, crocodiles basking in the morning sun, and a herd of wild buffalo. The jeep was in good condition and the ride was comfortable.
Knowledgeable local driver and respectful wildlife watching
What I appreciated most was our guide Gamini. He never crowded the animals and kept a respectful distance while turning off the engine so we could listen to the forest sounds. We saw elephants, hornbills, wild boar, and several mugger crocodiles. An honest and well organized safari experience.
Great positions for wildlife and bird photography
The driver understood good lighting angles and turned off the engine quickly whenever we paused for photos. The light over the villu in the early morning was soft and clear. Captured good pictures of painted storks, sea eagles, and deer.
Much more peaceful and natural than other crowded parks
Friends recommended Kumana instead of Yala because we wanted nature without traffic jams of jeeps. It was the right choice. We spent hours driving through forest and wetlands with only one or two other vehicles seen all morning. The local driver was polite and very sharp eyed.
Wonderful morning safari for our family
We went with our two children and our driver made it very enjoyable for them. He pointed out monkeys in the trees, crocodiles resting on sandbanks, and wild elephants crossing the road ahead of us. Binoculars were provided and the kids were thrilled throughout the drive.
Late afternoon wildlife watching around the waterholes
The afternoon light was magical. We saw several groups of spotted deer, peacocks displaying, wild buffalo in the mud, and an elephant family drinking at sunset. Clean jeep, friendly communication on WhatsApp, and fair pricing.
Relaxing day out in authentic Sri Lankan wilderness
Everything ran on schedule from pickup in Arugam Bay to drop off. The packed breakfast by the river was peaceful. We enjoyed the slow pace, fresh air, and seeing animals in their natural habitat without feeling rushed.
